Interesting stuff. There are studies out there that indicate that crows can recognize individuals as well, and can communicate and teach other crows about dangerous individuals. Animals are much more complex in what they know and can do than we give them credit for.
Crows and their relatives are frighteningly smart. There are some cool studies that show them engaging in what appears to be insight learning and pretty sophisticated problem solving. As it turns out, Birds have very good brains.
